LeatherMan's Carving Corner
A Western Rose Clutch Purse................. I have been carving leather for about twenty years. I first started out with a Tandy Starter Kit when they were about $40.
I made a few wallets in the Western Floral style and found that I hated Western Floral with a passion. But people continued to buy this type of carving.
This piece is one of the first Western Rose Clutch purses that I had ordered from me. Let me know what you think of it.
This purse was made for a friend of mine. I suspect that she ordered the Western Floral simply because she knew how I felt about it.
On the reverse side is a figure carved running horse.
By the way, I know the handles are installed incorrectly, but that is the way that she wanted it.
A Western Floral Purse for Wanda
Little Rock Police Badge Carving...... This is the piece that I am most proud of. It started out being a saddle bag cover for the Little Rock Police, but due to a personality clash between myself and the Chief, it became a notebook cover for a friend that collected badges.
It is fourteen inches wide and ten inches tall, and took almost thirty hours to complete. The pattern was taken from the end of the box that the badges were delivered in.
